The Avian Sciences Graduate Group aims to provide broad training in the underlying principles of the biology of Aves. The program offers specialized advanced work in several disciplinary areas, such as nutrition, physiology, reproduction, pathology, toxicology, immunology, food science, management, ecology, genetics, incubation, environmental physiology, and developmental biology of wild and domesticated animals. A variety of wild and domesticated birds are used as experimental animals, including psittacine, raptor, passerine, aquatic, and poultry species.
