The Coffee House is back in action! Having closed on March 18, the campus eatery is now partnering for delivery service.

This means campus and city residents can get CoHo favorites like breakfast burritos, personal pizzas and coffee delivered to their doors through the website Grubhub on campus or in the city of Davis, or pickup on the patio.

Early reports are that the CoHo’s return to business went smoothly. “We did 25 orders today (May 15), so it was a steady, manageable first day, but we are definitely looking for the business to grow from here,” said Darin Schluep, director of the CoHo, a unit of the ASUCD.

Added Schluep, “We assume we will make adjustments based on volume and requests we get for additional menu items …. We’ll be taking input and requests via our email and will be happy to expand the menu if demand warrants it.”

He said the staff have also done a good job beating delivery time estimates.

The CoHo will be open for orders through Grubhub, which imposes a 59-cent surcharge, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. weekdays. Orders will require a $5 minimum. Download the app for Android or iOS devices and look for the CoHo under the “UCD Campus” tab.

Student workers and career staff held a series of “trial runs” in recent weeks, with Schluep writing out orders for the various stations in the CoHo and staff fulfilling them. Now, around a dozen student cooks will be back at work and ready for the real thing.
