UC Davis hosted the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals Conference: Research to Action on the African Continent on January 23. The daylong event was an exploration into how academic institutions can play a role in working toward clean energy and water, sustainable food production, and healthy lives and well being on the continent.

Addressing such challenges requires us to break down traditional academic silos and increase collaboration between institutions. With that mission as the driving force, the One Health approach is crucial. Throughout the event, the One Health Institute and many others, including Dean Michael Lairmore of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, engaged with the topic in real time on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

We’ve captured much of that activity here. Browse below for a glimpse into what was discussed, and watch a video of the full conference here.
