June 11, 11 a.m. PDT — A top administrator from the University of California, Davis, will be part of a White House panel with Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, and chief medical advisor to the president, on the topic of the COVID-19 College Vaccine Challenge. President Joseph R. Biden announced the challenge June 2 as part of a National Month of Action to achieve a 70 percent vaccination rate (at least one shot) by the Fourth of July.

UC Davis was among more than 200 colleges and universities that had signed on to the challenge by the time it launched. In fact, UC Davis had already met the goals of the challenge by that time: Engage every student, and every faculty and staff member; organize the UC Davis community; and deliver vaccine access for all.

Kelly Ratliff, vice chancellor of Finance, Operations and Administration, a lead official in UC Davis’ pandemic response, will address the university’s efforts toward vaccination of students, staff and faculty, and the community as well. Read more about how UC Davis has met the challenge.
