 Building with virtual reality

UC Davis Health’s next major construction project isn’t confined to blueprints. The forthcoming California Tower is being planned with the use of virtual reality and augmented reality, which allow staff to provide feedback on how the building will be used to provide patient care. The tower is expected to be completed in 2030.

A grand Grad Slam

Alice Dien, a biological systems engineering Ph.D. student and the UC Davis Grad Slam champion, pitched her idea for a more sustainable way to dry food at the systemwide Grad Slam competition last week. See the list of winners on the contest’s website, and rewatch the final round on YouTube.
