-- Vicki Smith, UC Davis associate professor of sociology, was awarded the 1999 Distinguished Publication Award by the Labor Studies Division of the Society for the Study of Social Problems. The article for which she received the award, "The Fractured World of the Temporary Worker," was published in November 1998 issue of Social Problems.
