Comic actor Art Metrano, best known for his portrayal of the frenzied Lt. Mauser in the second and third "Police Academy" films, will share his personal experiences during Disability Awareness Week, April 11-15, at UC Davis. In a noon talk on Monday, April 11, in the Main Theatre, Metrano will describe the drama of his recovery and rehabilitation after a near-fatal accident. Other activities include a demonstration of wheelchair basketball by Sacramento's Capitol Cagers at noon Tuesday, April 12, in Lower Hickey Gym. At noon on Thursday, April 14, in MU II, Paul Longmore, professor of history at San Francisco State University, will discuss the disability rights movement and the legislative struggle to fight discrimination.
