At UC Davis' Kearney Agricultural Center, associate plant pathologist Themis Michailides has received the Lee M. Hutchins Award from the American Phytopathological Society for having the best contribution to basic or applied research on diseases of perennial fruit plants. Michailides will serve as chair of the Postharvest Pathology and Mycotoxicology Committee next year and is now serving a two-year stint on the association's journal, Plant Disease.
