Sgts. John Johnson, top, and Nader Oweis of the UC Davis Police Department become Lts. Johnson and Oweis on July 8 during a swearing-in ceremony at the ARC. Johnson oversees patrol at the medical center, and Oweis is in charge of patrol on campus. Both Oweis and Johnson have been with the police department for 11 years. The unit employs 41 police officers, 10 public safety dispatchers, 28 career staff and more than 50 students.
