-- JoAnne Boorkman, head of the UC Davis Carlson Health Sciences Library since 1988, was made a Fellow of the Medical Library Association during its recent annual meeting in Chicago. The association is a professional organization of more than 1,200 institutions and 3,800 individual members in the health sciences information field. Fellows are chosen based on their commitment to furthering association goals and their contributions to the health sciences information directors and on numerous national and chapter committees and task forces. She is the former chair of the Collection Development Section and a past president of the Northern California and Nevada Medical Library Group. She is a Distinguished Member of the group's Academy of Health Information Professionals, where she was instrumental in the development of the academy's credentialing program.
