Campus Bike Auction Rolls Out Deals

In one of the biggest bicycle auctions around, UC Davis will liberate more than 300 unclaimed bikes on Saturday, Oct. 7. Bicycles of many sizes, types and conditions will be available for sale along with unclaimed lost-and-found items that include tape recorders, jewelry, watches, clothing, books and calculators. The bikes, retrieved by the police after being stolen or lost, are collected during the spring and summer months. The funds raised from the sale help support the campus bicycle program. Bidding gets under way at 9 a.m. and it lasts until all items are sold. The auction takes place behind the UC Davis Fire and Police Building on Kleiber Hall Drive, south of Recreation Hall.
