Among the 1995 fellows for the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics is Mohamed Hafez, UC Davis professor of mechanical and aeronautical engineering. Only Hafez and eight other University of California faculty members -- including the chancellors at UC Berkeley and UC Santa Barbara -- are fellows from UC in the institute. Considered the highest honor bestowed by the institute, fellows are chosen on the basis of their publications, activities and contributions to the profession.
