Advisories and directives — Global Affairs provides comprehensive information about travel during the coronavirus outbreak. Questions and answers address subjects such as travel insurance, study abroad and the impact on international students and scholars.
- March 13 — Under revised guidelines posted by Global Affairs to its coronavirus travel advisory page, UC Davis travelers must avoid all nonessential international travel to any country, and are advised against nonessential university-sponsored domestic travel.
- March 10 — In a message to the campus community, UC Davis cautions staff and faculty to reconsider all their international travel, and domestic travel, too, whether personal or university-related.
Trip registration — UC Davis policy requires travelers for university business to register their trips in advance. Members of the campus community and their family may purchase the personal travel insurance and are encouraged to register their personal travel during this outbreak. The Trip Registration and Travel Insurance website provides information about registration and its benefits.
Trip cancellations and reimbursement — The UC Davis Travel Office provides information for travelers seeking reimbursement for travel impacted as a result of coronavirus.
- UC’s Central Travel Office and Risk Services will host a special webinar on coronavirus-related cancellations. It is scheduled from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, March 18. People with questions are invited to send them early to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Minimizing international travel is recommended since re-entry into the U.S. could be restricted.
