Senior Year—High School


  • Consider your transfer options by visiting colleges and their websites. Students at California community colleges (CCCs) receive highest priority for transfer admission.
  • Create your personalized academic interest profile to learn about UC Davis majors, connect with advisers and find out about upcoming admission events.
  • Our Facebook community is a great place to hear from current students about their UC Davis experiences.
  • Download our Admission Requirements brochure to learn more about admission, majors, transferable coursework and applying.
  • Understand your financial aid options—review your plan with family.
  • Apply for financial aid annually, October 1- March 2 at or


  • Submit your Cal Grant GPA verification form by March 2.


  • Apply for admission to the California community college of your choice and attend community college orientation.
  • Meet with a counselor to discuss transferring to UC Davis. Develop a transfer plan at, including courses that meet UC Davis selection requirements.
  • Review options for completing a general education pattern: IGETC or the UC Davis General Education (GE) pattern.


  • Register for community college classes.


First Year—Community College


  • Research your UC Davis major and familiarize yourself with prerequisite coursework.
  • Guarantee your admission to UC Davis! Meet with a counselor to discuss your transfer goals and plan a UC Davis Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG), available at all California community colleges.


  • Apply for financial aid annually, October 1- March 2 at or
  • Visit to familiarize yourself with transfer admission and selection requirements for your UC Davis major. Plan to complete 60 transferable semester (90 quarter) units by the end of the next spring term.
  • Meet with a counselor to plan spring courses. Complete 30 transferable semester (45 quarter) units by the end of summer.
  • Plan to complete UC transfer admission eligibility requirements in the areas of English composition and mathematics by the end of fall term, one year before your expected enrollment.


  • Participate in extracurricular activities and internships within your area of interest.


  • Meet with a counselor to ensure you are on target with your transfer plan.
  • At the close of each term, update coursework and grade information on your UC Transfer Admission Planner.
  • Attend UC Davis Picnic Day in April.


Second Year—Community College





  • Add UC Davis Undergraduate Admissions to your email safe list: we will send all email messages regarding your admission status to the address listed on your application.
  • UC Davis will notify you when your TAG decision is available, no later than November 15.
  • Complete and submit the UC undergraduate application for admission and scholarships no later than November 30.


  • Establish a UC Davis online account and check it frequently for updates about your admission status.
  • Complete fall courses at your community college, making sure to maintain or improve your GPA.
  • Submit your letter of recommendation for the Regents Scholarship by January.
