The Chicanx/Latinx Experience

Do you see yourself as a member of the UC Davis family? We do! Learn about some of the programs and resources offered by the campus Chicanx/Latinx community:

  • The Chicana and Chicano Studies Department is an international, cross-disciplinary program offering an academic major and minor, as well as a breadth of opportunities to understand the experiences, values, cultural representations and socioeconomic issues of Chicanx and Latinx communities.

  • Casa Cuauhtémoc Chicano-Latino Theme House allows students to explore Chicanx and Latinx thought and culture in a cross-cultural setting. An emphasis is placed on promoting leadership and broadening residents' cultural experiences. Casa residents develop an extensive range of cultural, social and educational programs, including mask making for Dia De Los Muertos, supporting UC Davis' La Raza Cultural Days, and various field trips.

  • Taller Arte del Nuevo Amanecer (TANA) Arts Center was founded by UC Davis Chicana/o Studies faculty and brings inspiration, arts and role models to Woodland youth with the help of UC Davis student interns.
