Application fee waivers are available to students who can't afford to apply to the University of California. Find out if you are eligible.

Eligibility and Guidelines

Application fee waivers are available for students who are permanent residents, eligible for AB540 benefits or U.S. citizens. Your family size and income must fall within specific guidelines to be eligible.

Requesting a Fee Waiver

You can apply for fee waivers for up to four UC campuses through the UC application, and will be notified of your eligibility immediately. If you wish to apply to more than four campuses, you must pay the application fee for each additional campus.
