- Text messages and emails will be sent at noon Wednesday, Oct. 20
- Review your information and, if you like, add numbers and addresses
- Alerts also will be posted to app and UC Davis Twitter and Facebook
The campus is scheduled to test its WarnMe emergency notification system at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 20.
And with enhancements to the system, you can provide more contact information and select to receive messages for additional groups.
In the first of three regular tests for the academic year, the campus will send alerts by text message and email to faculty, staff and students, all of whom are automatically registered to receive alerts through their campus email; you can add other contact information including personal email addresses and mobile numbers — now up to a total of five for each contact method (including those listed in the UC Davis online directory). Test messages only will go to others who have registered on their own.
The message will also be posted to the Everbridge Mobile App and UC Davis' official Twitter and Facebook accounts.
You can also choose to receive messages for additional groups; for example, a faculty member might choose to receive messages sent to students. Verify and update your contact information, if need be, on the WarnMe website.
Parents, vendors, contractors and others can sign up to receive text notifications only for the Davis campus by texting UCDALERTS to 888777.
The Sacramento campus will conduct a simultaneous but separate WarnMe test.
