First came the warmup: our report last week on what’s open and when during winter break. Now comes the cooldown, about lower thermostat settings in buildings and your limited options for coffee (and food) on campus.

The temperature setbacks will be in effect during the university’s two four-day weekends, Friday through Monday, Dec. 22-25 and Dec. 29-Jan. 1 — so bring an extra sweater if you plan on being here. Note: Laboratory and animal spaces are not affected, and scheduled events will receive heating as well.

Questions about the temperature setbacks? Or, do you need to report a building or grounds emergency? Call the Facilities Management Customer Support Center, 530-752-1655, open 24 hours, seven days a week (including winter break).

Your food and coffee options look like this: The Coffee House, Scrubs Café and BioBrew by CoHo will be open through Thursday, Dec. 21, and the CoHo South Café will be open through Wednesday, Dec. 20. See hours below.

Everything will stay closed at least through New Year’s Day — except for the Memorial Union Market (which serves Peet’s Coffee), which will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Thursday, Dec. 26-28, and will be your ONLY option for coffee those three days. Even the food trucks will be gone, at least through Jan. 1.
