Whether it's your first day at UC Davis or your final year, Fall Welcome gives students new and old a chance to celebrate new beginnings with fellow Aggies and the rest of the university community.

This year, UC Davis is combining its Fall Convocation and the New Student Celebration from years past and packaging the whole event as the new Fall Welcome.

From Move-In Weekend and the New Student Celebration, to the ASUCD Sunset Fest (formerly known as "The BUZZ"), Fall Welcome Week is filled with important activities and sessions for new and returning students.

Move-In Weekend

First-year students will have the chance to make themselves at home, with the help of Chancellor Gary S. May and other campus leaders on hand to lift boxes throughout the weekend.

Move-In Weekend spans both Saturday and Sunday and starts at 8 a.m. each day. Half of all new residents move in on Saturday and the other half move in on Sunday; each student has an assigned day, as noted in housing assignments. The Student Housing office will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days.

WHEN: Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 22 and 23
WHERE: Contact the Student Housing office for more information about student housing

We're talking about one of those all-important decisions a student will face while attending school at UC Davis: To be Greek or not to be Greek. Launched during Fall Welcome Week 2016, The Xperience is a program co-sponsored between the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life and UC Davis Athletics.

Come meet the 67 Greek organizations to see how to get involved!

What's playing? This year, it's Disney/Pixar's latest blockbuster, Incredibles 2 is scheduled to play.

Be a Hero

"We are Aggie Heroes."

That is the theme of the chancellor’s Fall Welcome. Chancellor May, himself a fan of comic book heroes, sees the parallel those larger-than-life characters have with people in their communities everywhere, making a difference in their own special way. “Every day, try to learn something, try to help someone and try to make the world better.” The chancellor's speech will address how he sees that in all of us — in our studies, in our work, in our research and in our passion.

Free T-shirts and refreshments will be provided to all attendees.

WHEN: 4 p.m. - 5 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24
