There’s still nearly a month to go before UC Davis and Sacramento State face off on the football field, but one Causeway Classic has already been decided: the Causeway Classic Blood Drive.
“In reality we’re all winners, as this is a fun, friendly competition was to save lives and we did just that,” said Sandra Harper with Vitalant, formerly known as Bloodsource.
UC Davis registered 665 donors, while Sacramento State registered 800. In all, the 1,465 registrants donated more than 1,136 pints of blood, Harper said.
“Hornets and Aggies should be proud of how many patients’ lives they are going to impact after these past few weeks’ efforts, especially right now at a time when blood is so very needed,” she said.
This brings the tally of Causeway Classic Blood Drive wins to seven for the Aggies and five for the Hornets.
