Binders, staplers, folders, stacking trays, adding machines — chances are you have them lying around your office, unused, taking up space. Well, how about gathering them up in Office Clean Out Event and making them available for other departments to use?

The Bargain Barn is running this event in partnership with the Office of Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability.

The Bargain Barn also announced another free e-waste dropoff event and extended hours one day a month.

• Office Clean Out Event — UC Davis unit representatives are invited to drop off unused supplies any day this week, from 3 to 4 p.m. at the Bargain Barn on La Rue Road.

“We’ll add the items to our ‘Free to Department’ shelf and help keep them in reuse,” said Michelle Borba, the Bargain Barn coordinator. Items on this shelf are free for departmental use, and available to the general public at nominal cost.

Departments also are welcome to drop off office supplies that are at the end of their useful lives — and the Bargain Barn will dispose of these supplies.

Please note that the Bargain Barn is unable to accept any items with UC Davis property numbers for this event.

• E-waste dropoff — Noon to 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 27, at the Hopkins Service Complex on Hopkins Road, west of Highway 113. Electronics must be university-owned, but without UC Davis property stickers. Items must be desktop size or smaller, and cannot contain refrigerant or hazardous waste.

• Extended hours — Finally, the Bargain Barn is open late the first Thursday of every month, from 4 to 7 p.m. Here are the upcoming dates: April 6, May 3 and June 7.
