Media Advisory: UC Davis LIVE on COVID-19, 6 Months On

Sept. 24, 10 a.m. — It’s a little over six months since the state of California issued a stay-at-home order and UC Davis treated the first case of community-acquired COVID-19. What have we learned in the past six months? Where are we in the course of this pandemic? What lies ahead?

Hear from two UC Davis experts who have been in the lead working to treat patients and prevent the spread of COVID-19.

The guests:

  • Allison Brashear is dean of the UC Davis School of Medicine. As dean she oversees one of the nation’s top research, academic and medical training institutions, with 836 full-time faculty, approximately 460 students, and 817 trainees in graduate medical education. She also holds an M.B.A. focused on health-sector management.
  • Dr. Dean Blumberg is a professor of pediatrics and chief of pediatric infectious diseases at UC Davis Health. His interests are in preventing and treating childhood infections, vaccine research and childhood immunization policies.

The conversation, hosted by Soterios Johnson, will be streamed live on FacebookYouTube and Twitter beginning at 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 24.

Questions can be submitted via Facebook and Twitter either in advance or during the show.
