Media Advisory: UC Davis LIVE on COVID-19, Caregivers and the Holidays

By Andy Fell on November 16, 2020 in Human & Animal Health

* Nov. 19, 11 a.m. — In a normal year, the holidays are a time to gather with family and friends. But 2020 isn’t a normal year, and elderly people are especially at risk from COVID-19. How can we safely mark the holidays while supporting older relatives and their family caregivers? Join us this Thursday for a live discussion of these issues with two UC Davis experts.

The guests:

  • Natascha Tuznik is an assistant clinical professor in the Department of Internal Medicine. She is an infectious disease specialist and former hospitalist who specializes in general infectious diseases and infection control practices.
  • Theresa “Terri” Harvath is senior director for strategic initiatives and director of the Family Caregiving Institute at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Her teaching, research and clinical practice center on the health and health care for frail, older people and their family caregivers. She is the incoming president of the Gerontological Society of America.

The conversation, hosted by Soterios Johnson, will be streamed live on FacebookYouTube and Twitter beginning at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 19.

Questions can be submitted via Facebook and Twitter either in advance or during the show.
