It's Time for Staff's Annual Fun and Games

Come join in fun and sun at the 20th anniversary of the Staff Assembly Thank Good for Staff barbecue on Wednesday, May 12. Beef or vegetarian fajitas will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Putah Creek Lodge. Prizes, games, music, and presentations for staff scholarships and Citations for Excellence will take place. Back by popular demand is the "Administrator Dunk Tank," plus Bovine Bingo, a game of chance that will be decided by a cow dropping on the lawn. Proceeds will benefit staff scholarships. Bovine Bingo tickets can be purchased ahead of time for $10 from Zack O'Donnell, 752-5947, or at the barbecue. Positions for the bingo drop will be on a first-come, first served basis. There are only 100 positions available. The lucky winner will receive a trip for two to Disneyland. Other events include: Recycle Toss. Bring a recyclable can to enter this event. The first 100 people to get their can into the bin win a mug. If you already have a recycle mug, bring it with you and if you win you'll get a free refill coupon. Sponsored by R-4 Recycling Program. Squirt Gun Shoot. Join the UC Davis Health Awareness Program in shooting squirt guns at sunscreen bottles. Shooters who knock one over will be entered into a drawing for a door prize. Besides having fun, you'll get free samples and learn about using sunscreen and staying hydrated during the summer days. Guess-the-Weight Contest. Guess the combined weight of an antique steam generator provided by Antique Mechanics and the generator's passengers to win a great prize. Door Prizes. Your barbecue ticket enters you into a drawing for gift certificates and many more wonderful prizes. You need not be present to win. However, you must present a picture identification to pick up your prize at the barbecue. If you are not present, you will be contacted. Volunteers are always needed. This year we will need help in blowing up balloons from 8 to 10 a.m. We also need help in many jobs such as transportation, plate distribution, crowd control and clean up. Most shifts run for half-hour, but any time on May 12 that you can give will be greatly appreciated. Contact Maggie Overbaugh at 7522-5992 or maoverbaugh@ucdavis.edu or Kay Resler at 752-5084 or keresler@ucdavis.edu to sign up. Kay Resler, an administrative assistant in biological and agricultural engineering, is co-chair of TGFS.
