Help Showcase UC Davis’ Public Impact

Contribute to the UC Public Engagement Database by Dec. 31

Thanks to the tremendous efforts of our faculty, staff and students, UC Davis continues to grow its reputation as a national leader in community partnerships and public impact.

Now it’s time to ensure your activities are recognized. The university is asking you to submit your work to the UC Public Engagement database by Dec. 31. Completing the form takes just two minutes.

The offices of UCOP Institutional Research and Academic Planning and UC External Relations and Communications will use the data to inform the annual UCOP Accountability report, the UC In Your District maps that are shared with state and federal officials, and UC’s Impact Beyond Campus Borders website.

Since the last data collection effort, many programs in the UCPE database have been archived. There are now only about 110 active programs in the database — down from more than 2,000 programs in 2021 — which does not come close to capturing the volume of public engaged work by the campus community. The goal is to have each of our major schools, colleges and offices well represented.

Any UC Davis affiliate can enter and export information. For assistance with mass uploads or questions, contact ucpe@ucdavis.edu.

How to use the database

The form is simple to access and to complete. To get started, log in using your Kerberos ID and review the “how-to” guide, including a video tutorial.

Curious about whether your program, grant or partnership qualifies? Read the guiding questions to help you understand the types of programs and opportunities the database collects. A keyword search or select your school or college from the homepage dashboard to be sure you are not duplicating an existing entry.

  • To reactivate an archived program, search the programs by school or college and “include archived programs” in your search. The record will shift to “active” once it is updated.

About the database

The UCPE database, curated by the offices of Government and Community Relations and Public Scholarship and Engagement, helps UC Davis demonstrate its impact locally and globally and creates a strong foundation for assessment of community partnerships, public impact and student outcomes.
