THE DOWNLOAD: Med Center Falcons, Grad Cap Contest

Since at least 2015, peregrine falcons have made their home on the roof of the UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. This April, four chicks hatched in their nest and are expected to fly away by mid-June. Zeka Glucs, director of UC Santa Cruz's Predatory Bird Research Group, visited their nest to band the youth as part of their Bay Area peregrine breeding monitoring study.

Out in the workplace

UC Davis’ Ask an Aggie interview series, in which students discuss what it’s like to be a student at UC Davis, took up a special topic in honor of Pride Month. In the above video, Camille Randolph and Larissa Lim talk about being publicly out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community on campus and in their professional lives.

Grad cap voting begins Wednesday

The caps (and face coverings) are in, and voting is about to begin in UC Davis’ annual commencement-season contest. Visitors to the UC Davis Facebook page will be able to vote for their favorite decorated grad caps and face coverings between Wednesday (June 16) and June 23. Participants have the chance to win gift cards to Amazon and UC Davis Stores.
