The women's cross country team won the regional championship, too. It was quite a feat, considering the women's team was missing two All American runners, but freshmen and sophomores stepped into place to help carry the day. Williams was voted West Region Coach of the Year after directing both the men's and women's cross country teams to the regional titles and a berth at the NCAA Division II National Championships later this month. Williams, in fact, won the same honor last year.
