SUMMER EXHIBITS

Shared Histories: African American Art from Local Collections -- Painting, drawing and sculpture by 34 artists. July 12-Aug. 17. Opening reception, 6-8 p.m. July 12. Nelson Gallery.

Back Roads: Photographs from the Rural Landscape -- Black-and-white photos of scenes from in and around Yolo and Colusa counties, by Craft Center instructor William Kenefick. June 25-July 27, Craft Center Gallery.

3-night chamber music series

The Mondavi Center for the Performing Arts announced the American Bach Soloists' SummerFest 2007: chamber music on three consecutive nights, July 13-15. The group is scheduled to perform works by Bach, Brahms, Haydn, Mozart, Schubert and Vivaldi, and works written by members of American Bach Soloists. Charcoal on polypropylene

Department of Plant Sciences events planner Angela Oates is exhibiting charcoal-on-polypropylene art through July 7 at Pamela Skinner-Gwenna Howard Contemporary Art, 723 S St., Sacramento. Gallery hours are noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday, or by appointment.
