ARTS IN BRIEF

Alexander Strings due

The Alexander String Quartet is on the Sundays With Mozart calendar three times this season at Mondavi Center, with the first date set for Oct. 15. For concerts at 2 and 8 p.m. in the Mondavi's Studio Theatre, the quartet plans a program with two pieces that Mozart dedicated to his friend and mentor Franz Joseph Haydn, along with introductory remarks by renowned educator and composer Robert Greenberg, speaking about the life and music of Mozart. With Sundays With Mozart, the Mondavi continues its celebration of the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth. The Alexander String Quartet's other Mondavi performances this season are scheduled for Jan. 14 and June 3. Tickets: (530) 754-2787 or (866) 754-2787, or www.mondaviarts.org.
