Spring is here, and if you are looking for something to put in the ground, consider the UC Davis Arboretum's Spring Plant Sale scheduled from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. April 7 at the nursery off Orchard Road near La Rue Road. Organizers said they will be offering hundreds of different kinds of plants that have been grown in Davis and will thrive in the Central Valley. The sale is open to the public, with free admission. But, if you join the Friends of the UC Davis Arboretum at the gate, you will receive a free plant and a 10 percent discount on purchases.
