Grab a show at the Davis Shakespeare Festival

Looking to get out of the blistering Davis heat and take in a play this weekend? Look no further. The Davis Shakespeare Festival presents the musical “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” showing at the Veterans Memorial Center Theater in Davis presented as part of the Davis Shakespeare Festival.

There are three show times this weekend: Thursday and Saturday at 8 p.m and Sunday at 2 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online for $30, and one can get more information, at this link. “A Gentleman’s Guide to Love and Murder” has received rave reviews from Broadway Sacramento and the Davis Enterprise. It plays through August 4.

Next year’s UC Davis music performances scheduled

Music enthusiasts can start planning their schedules. The UC Davis Department of Music has released a schedule of events through February 2020. The concerts are conveniently located on campus, at either the Mondavi Center or the Ann E. Pitzer Center. Many of the concerts are either free or very affordable, with discounts for students and children. The schedule includes something for everyone: from trumpet to harpsichord, violin to cello, jazz to opera, chamber music to a symphony orchestra.
