UC Davis TAG Requirements

The UC Davis Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) is a written agreement that guarantees admission to UC Davis in a specific major from any California community college (CCC).

Effective for Fall 2022 Applicants: All majors except Computer Science and Data Science in the College of Letters and Science are open to TAG. All students interested in applying to the Computer Science or Data Science major must still submit the UC application in November. Computer science is still a selective major and you can view the admission requirements.
For coursework in spring/summer 2020 terms only, Pass or Credit grades will be allowed in lieu of letter grades; Please refer to the additional selective major TAG requirements in the corresponding areas below.

Apply for a TAG

  1. Use the UC Transfer Admission Planner (TAP) to start your TAG application.
  2. Review it with your community college counselor or UC Davis advisor.
  3. Submit the TAG application by September 30 via the UC TAP. Review your TAG decision after Nov. 15.
  4. Submit the UC application for undergraduate admission and scholarships, Oct. 1–Nov 30.
  5. Fulfill all remaining coursework and GPA requirements as outlined in your TAG agreement.

You must complete selective major course requirements as outlined by the end of spring term prior to transfer. You must achieve and maintain minimum required GPAs for courses in the groups or series below that have been completed at the time of application.

Additional tips

All coursework, including international coursework, must be reported on the TAG and UC application, regardless if it is considered transferable or if the student does not want any credit.

Lower division unit limitations

To be eligible for a TAG, students who attended any colleges or universities other than a CCC must have less than 80 UC-transferable semester-units (120 UC-transferable quarter-units) overall, after applying UC lower-division unit limitations and exclusions.
