Thousands of Thank Goodness For Staff picnic-goers will head to Shields Grove on Wednesday, May 11.

Themed "Racing into the Future," TGFS 2005 runs 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Live music will be offered by the Retrospecs, with a special appearance by an Elvis impersonator. TGFS picnic festivities also include bovine bingo, the Guess the Weight contest, announcement of Citation of Excellence awardees, a logo contest and more.

The lunch will include chicken or vegetable teriyaki, steamed rice, fruit salad, fortune cookies and ice cream sandwiches.

Walking and bicycling to the event are encouraged, and there will be staff on hand offering valet bicycle parking.

Shuttle routes will be color coded — with route numbers showing in color on white paper. In addition, Unitrans has agreed to give staff members showing their staff IDs a ride to the picnic for free.

Roads around the grove will be closed to cars, and there will be no public parking at Shields Grove.
