Child Care: Nanny and Sitter Resources

WorkLife announced Aug. 14 that Bright Horizons, provider of child care benefits to UC employees, has added a new resource for parents looking for sitters, nannies and-or tutors. Employees also have access to Sittercity through Bright Horizons.

Start here, on the Bright Horizons Benefits page for UC employees. Under “Bright Horizons Additional Family Supports,” look for:

  • Access Nanny Placement Services (through College Nannies and Sitters and Tutors) — Get personalized help from a local nanny agency with recruiting, vetting and selecting a nanny who will match your family’s specific needs. Take advantage of $300 savings on the placement fee and a 10 percent discount on the hourly rates for a nanny you select.
  • Search for Sitters, Nannies & Housekeepers (through Sittercity) — Your benefits include free access to Sittercity’s comprehensive database of sitters, nannies and housekeepers.

Students looking for employment can sign up with either service to work as sitters, nannies or tutors, using these direct links:

Also last week, WorkLife posted this “How to Find Child Care” guide to go along with other resources, including child care options on- and off-campus in Davis and Sacramento, and programs for older children.
