A lifelong animal lover

I am a big animal lover and admirer of the natural world. This may come as a surprise to some because I spent 15 years of my adult life in the concrete jungle of New York City, but as a kid I spent most summers on a month-long road trip with my parents exploring the wonders of the U.S. — from the wild horses in Assateague to the bison of Yellowstone.

I grew up in Davis and attended UC Davis, before moving to New York to pursue my master’s degree in journalism at Columbia University. I returned to my hometown in 2014 and became editor of UC Davis Magazine in 2015.

These days, I’m reacquainting myself with all that California has to offer and refining my ability to tackle a variety of subjects. Over the years, I’ve written about farming, education, business, fashion and more. I look forward to venturing into One Health next.

Live music. I attend as many concerts as possible.
