Animal Science Graduate Prepares to Be a Leader in One Health

If you want proof that UC Davis is nurturing leadership for the next One Health generation, just take a look at alumnus Matthew Warren ’14.

Matthew, who has always loved science and working with animals, didn’t quite know how to focus those two passions. Then he arrived as a transfer student to the Department of Animal Science from West Hills College in California’s San Joaquin Valley. The UC Davis professors saw Matthew’s potential and nurtured him.

In a new UC Davis blog, “What Can I Do With My Major?” this Aggie tells how he was transformed by our university. He arrived with vague dreams. Now he’s in a university lab researching chickens. His One Health goal?  A natural, healthier alternative to antibiotics that we feed chickens.

Read Matthew’s story in his own words.
