Find your community
Learn about the many ways you can find your own community as soon as you arrive, beginning with a panel of guests from the Student Community Center, one of the most dynamic spaces on campus that includes:
- Student Recruitment and Retention Center
- Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual (LGBTQIA) Resources Center
- Cross Cultural Center
Our second group of panelists features Aggie scholars with roots that extend all around the world, representing:
- Services for International Students & Scholars
- Center for African Diaspora Student Success
- Native American Academic Student Success Center
- Center for Chicanx and Latinx Academic Student Success
Finally, you’ll meet a trio representing First-year Aggie Connections, an innovative program that helps first-year students explore interests in small groups called “Connections” based on a shared purpose, interest, or theme.
Financial Aid and Undocumented Student Support
This edition of Aggie Experience Live! begins with experts from the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships, dedicated to providing resources that financially support the educational goals of prospective and enrolled students. The first panel will address topics in English. The second panel is a bilingual presentation for English and Spanish speakers. Our third group of panelists comes to us from the AB540 and Undocumented Student Center, which empowers students to attain their educational goals and overcome legal and financial obstacles.
Make Yourself at Home
Find out why UC Davis freshmen thrive in the residence halls, eat well across campus and find fun throughout our fair city. Staff and students from Student Housing and Dining Services talk about what you can expect from residential life on campus. We discuss everything from day-to-day costs and support services to res hall rules and conflict resolution. Then we put the focus on food before turning our attention to the Center for Student Involvement, which coordinates 800+ student clubs and organizations.
Living Well at UC Davis
Discover the many ways Aggies keep both body and mind in peak fitness. Here, we kick things off with a panel discussion that spans topics from art to athletics. Next, we turn to personal wellness, chatting with a counselor from Student Health and Counseling Services and a student from Aggie Compass Basic Needs Center. And learning doesn’t stop at the campus gate! We speak with Aggies from the Internship and Career Center as well as our Global Learning Hub, which helps students find learning opportunities on campus, in the region, and across all seven continents.
Oh, the Things You’ll Learn
Whether you’re laser-focused on a career—or completely undecided—our academic colleges and majors have programs to help first-year students make progress and even find research opportunities. We also speak with students and staff from Health Professions Advising, University Honors Program, the First-Year Seminar Program and the Undergraduate Research Center. Discover the possibilities you didn’t even know existed!
