Academic News

  • Fall 2018 UC Davis TAG Criteria. We encourage you and your students to visit the UC Davis TAG website to learn about the UC Davis Transfer Admission Guarantee (TAG) and to review updated criteria for fall 2018 applicants. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with TAG updates now, so that you can help your students work on their TAG applications for the September 1-30 submission period.
     
  • Transfer Admission Requirement Updates
    • College of Engineering applicants for fall 2018 should view the 2017-18 Transfer Credit Agreement (the “engineering grid”) showing UC Davis courses required for each major. Applicants must complete lower-division coursework for majors shown on ASSIST 2016-17 articulation agreements, with exceptions outlined under Preparation for Specific Majors.
       
    • Computer Science in the College of Letters and Science now requires Engineering Computer Science (ENG CS) 50 and 60 as selective major requirements.  A 3.40 GPA is now required for the course group Engineering Computer Science (ENG CS) 20, 30, 50 and 60.

    • Majors in Fiber and Polymer Science and in Textiles and Clothing in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences have been suspended for the 2018-19 academic year and are not available to fall 2018 applicants.

    • Natural Sciences in the College of Letters and Science is discontinued and not available for fall 2018 applicants.

  • UC Davis ranked among the world's best for agriculture and veterinary sciences. UC Davis held onto its top spot in veterinary sciences, and has again been ranked one of the best in the world for teaching and research in agriculture and forestry by QS World University Rankings. This marks the second consecutive year that the campus has held the No. 1 world ranking in veterinary science and the fourth year among the world's best schools for agriculture and forestry, following three consecutive years in the No. 1 spot. The rankings are prepared by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), a British firm that is widely considered to be one of the most influential international university ranking providers.
     
  • Explore UC Davis.
    • Encourage your students to create a personalized interest page that provides a guided exploration of campus based on their specific interests and makes it easy to stay updated on academic programs, campus life and admission information. Parents and counselors can use the site to join our contact list to receive periodic admission updates.
       
    • Check out the majors blog where UC Davis students talk about their experiences and offer advice to new and prospective students. This is a great way for your students to get career ideas and the inside scoop on what it's like to be a UC Davis Aggie!
