Graduation how-to, facts and fun
Graduates, their families and friends are all focused on degrees, caps and gowns this time of year. For more than 7,400 undergraduates, professional and graduate students at UC Davis, this is an exciting celebration of hard work and achievement. To mark the occasion, UC Davis puts on 12 spring ceremonies, scheduled through June 17. You can learn more about times, dates, places, renting caps and gowns, and historical trivia by taking a look below.
After long days and even longer nights of reading, writing, research and analysis, graduate student Zhongwei Cao turns in her biochemistry and molecular biology dissertation and hears the welcome sound of the celebratory bell from Dawne Shell, Graduate Studies student affairs officer. Zhongwei will be one of nearly 600 students walking in the Graduate Studies June 14 commencement. (Fredericka Parker/UC Davis photo)
