How the hall is being paid for
Cost: $21.6 million for construction
- State funding: $16.1 million (about 75 percent)
- Private funding: $5.5 million
Private support for construction will enable:
- Increased seating to 400 (state funds would pay for fewer seats)
- Upgraded acoustic designs to higher concert standards
- Telescoping choral risers and other stage accommodations
Other fundraising plans:
$1 million-plus for endowment funds to support:
- Production costs for concerts and performances
- Performance recordings and production of CDs
- Visiting artists and ensembles, performance and outreach
- Patron services, marketing and operations of the Recital Hall
